Rich Chinese outnumber wealthy Americans for first time

A study by Credit Suisse has shown that the number of rich Chinese has surpassed the count of wealthy Americans for the first time. The annual wealth survey found 100 million Chinese ranked in the global top 10 per cent as of the middle of this year versus 99 million in the US. The number of the world’s millionaires rose to an estimated 46.8 million, collectively owning 44% of global net assets.

in a totalitarian government that will take it all away if there isn't strict and unquestioning obedience and where the business must be subordinated to State desires. That's not really wealth.

Poor Americans have more guns than rich Chinese.

Because the Chinese MASSIVELY outnumber Americans?

Yeah that's not counting all the corrupt government officials with billions of dollars of hard cash, gold, jewellery etc stashed at home. All their kids wives and mistresses are in the western world driving lambos and Ferraris with luxury houses, while at least 1/7 of the country lives in dirt, literally less than 3k USD income for the whole family per year. Disgusting "socialism with China characteristics" at it's finest.

And China had to redefine "extreme poverty" so that nobody thinks that their rural communities are literally starving... This is a spin piece, China has a property bubble on the verge of bursting that makes the 2008 recession look insignificant by comparison. China is a terrible place, a true fascist regime as Mussolini himself would have designed.

The cbs article said we more than quadruple China’s millionaire population so I think that a better metric.
