2019 had the smallest ozone hole on record

The hole in Earth’s ozone layer is the smallest it has ever been since scientists discovered the puncture nearly 35 years ago, partly due to a shift in the polar vortex that caused a heatwave above Antarctica, said NASA. The spike in temperatures in the portion of the atmosphere helped limit conditions that cause ozone-depleting chemicals to form.

Wow. Global Warming does something good for a change, aaaaand it's seen as bad, a fluke and you should still feel bad every day. 🤡🌍

Its almost as if climate changes are cyclic in nature and humans don't have as large of an impact as we think. huh

A polar vortex which created a heatwave over the Antarctic? No no must be co2!

Most people seem confused on this issue. The holes in the ozone were caused by aerosols and fluorocarbons which react with O3 and O2 in the atmosphere, also known as ozone. The world strixtly applied regulations on business' use. of these gases that were linked to depletion of ozone. Climate change is a seperate issue that claims CO2 emissions trap heat and low frequency light waves in the atmosphere, raising global temperatures.

The world will heal itself, just doesn't necessarily mean it will be a good thing for humans when it does.

You do no favors to yourself when you say "look at this positive outcome. So much for your argument!" I am a skeptic when it comes to anthropomorphic climate change and a proponent of evidence-based policy, but I don't see any good comments here. Two things can be true at once - if climate change is happening (it is) and it is as severe as climate alarmists say it is (it almost certainly is not) and even if it is because of humans (I have yet to hear reference to conclusive, rigorously and scientifically-produced evidence), it can still have some positive outcomes.

That's great news, I guess the government ban on fluorocarbons in aerosols had the expected result of reducing ozone depletion and allowed the problem to start to reverse itself. Thanks climate science, you done good!
