Lori Loughlin and other parents face new charges in college admissions scam

Actress Lori Loughlin, her fashion designer husband, Mossimo Giannulli, and several other parents linked to the college admissions scandal are to be slapped with additional charges. Loughlin and her husband are now accused of bribing employees at the University of Southern California to get their children admitted. The additional bribery charge carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.

Pretty tired of hearing about this stupidity. They donated to charity? Fine. Make them pay 10x the cumulative expense for the University (full cost of getting a degree) and do 1000 hours of community service at a reading academy. These people should not be imprisoned unless they caused harm.

No one really seems to be talking about the Uni's role in this? Seem to me that a degree from SoCal isn't worth much. (well, at least as far as potential employers are concerned)

srsly can't understand the desperation to get their kids into this school. Are their kids that dumb? The parents certainly can afford the tuition. There are other schools. I went to a university and never took an SAT. wth?
