Southwest profits spike despite 737 Max groundings

Strong travel demand helped lift Southwest Airlines revenue and profit in the third quarter. Southwest said Thursday the flight ban of the Boeing 737 Max grounding cost it $210 million in revenue in the quarter, but sales still rose just over 1% to $5.64 billion. Net income rose 7% to $659 million.
