Google confirms ’quantum supremacy’ breakthrough

Google has announced that it’s ’achieved quantum supremacy’. In the Nature article, Google published a feat of its 54 qubit Sycamore processor performing a calculation in 200 seconds that would take the past’s most powerful supercomputer 10000 years. However IBM, the operator of the computer that Google reports to have beaten, disputes it, saying the task would have taken their computer 2.5 days.

Couple of things: 1) How do they verify the correctness of the calculation if only on machine can do it? 2) How is it on par with the Wright brothers first flight? We already have computers. The Wright brothers didn't already have an airplane. Maybe the first space launch? 3) Most importantly. How soon will I be able to play The Sims on it?
