Spain on Thursday began exhuming the remains of former Spanish dictator Francisco Franco from his grandiose mausoleum outside Madrid. The government-ordered, closed-door operation fulfils a decades-old desire of many who wanted the mausoleum, built alongside another mausoleum for the tens of thousands who died in Spain’s Civil War, be moved.
