US durable goods orders fall 1.1% in September

New orders for key U.S.-made capital goods fell more than expected in September. The Commerce Department said orders for non-defense capital goods excluding aircraft fell 0.5% last month. Core capital goods orders increased 1.0% on a yearly basis. Overall orders for durable goods declined 1.1% in September after edging up a revised 0.3% in the prior month.
