Ukraine knew of aid freeze before it became public, says NYT report

As per documents obtained by the NYT, Ukraine knew by the beginning of August that the Trump administration was holding up military aid over a request to open a criminal probe into former VP Biden. The report said Ukrainian officials were alerted to the existence of the aid freeze by the end of the first week of August. This contradicts what has been suggested by President Trump and allies.

Oh boy. Anonymous reports + NYT analysis = Orange man bad. I still maintain that it's not illegal for Trump to investigate Biden's dealings as VP. Running for president doesn't grant Joe immunity from the law.

Yet the President of Ukraine says otherwise. The NYT is lying again. Nothing new about that. ZERO credibility.

I'm sure thre was anonymous 'leak' by someone of Schiff's payroll now, but who cares as long as it was after the notorious so called 'quid pro quo' phonecall.

So what you're telling me, is that President Zelensky agreed to launch investigations prior to knowing about the funds being frozen anyway? Um... hate to break it to you, but this changes nothing.

this destroys their dumb talking point but it wasn't a real defense anyway. if you try to extort or bribe someone (in this case with taxpayer money allotted by Congress for reasons related to 'national security') it's still a crime whether the victim is aware of it or not plus it's a separate crime for a politician to request help from a foreign government for personal gain even if there was no extortion
