Government extends protected status for Salvadorans in US by at least a year

The government has extended temporary protection for Salvadorans living in the US by an extra year, U.S. Ambassador to El Salvador Ronald Johnson said on Monday. The TPS protections had been set to expire in January. TPS was granted to Salvadorans following two devastating 2001 earthquakes that left hundreds of thousands of people homeless.

Ok, I am glad the US helped them when they needed it but afterwards they can and should return to their homes.
