Sondland testified Trump-Ukraine pressure was quid pro quo

US Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland told House investigators last week the actions of President Trump and his allies over Ukraine ’amounted to a quid pro quo’. Sondland testified as part of an impeachment inquiry, which has been investigating whether Trump used the office of the president for his own personal gain.

Huh. How is it that this detail was pushed out for publication? Why have we not heard the rest of the testimony? It's like it's... bitterly partisan.

The transcript was already released, idiots. The only people making these claims have an axe to grind with the administration's policies and have deep antipathy for the president. It's truly disturbing that activities Democrats are calling impeachable are things we have the last administration doing on RECORD. The Australian government, the UK, and the Ukrainians have already admitted Obama asked for them to look into candidate Trump.

utterly meaningless, he believes it was quid pro quo. whoop de doo, I believe Chuck Shroomer is a pedophile, so what?

It's almost as if someone is trying to control the narrative. One witness per day, one leak/sound bite per day that confirms the desired result. But manipulating the message can't be true as these politicians are honest, fair, and ethical. Just ask any of them and they'll tell you they are!

Holy shit, what a misleafing title! Saying it was quid pro quo, and saying it amounts to quid pro quo are entirely different statements. On is an opinion, one is a fact. Fucking hell. English, *****, do you speak it? Or are you just disingenuous?

If corrupt democrats are held to account, Trump gains. Therefore holding any corrupt democrat to account is an impeachable offence.

Then why was the aid released without prid pro quo

People seen to think quid pro quo is illegal or if the President tangentially benefits from something, it's bad. The real question is what does the U.S. get in exchange? If the President benefits at the expense of the country, then he should be impeached. IF THE COUNTRY BENEFITS, THE PRESIDENT IS DOING HIS JOB.

Nacy Pelosi isnt even going forward with a legitimate impeachment inquiry anymore. Not enough democrats were behind it.

the best part....he thinks it is...its his opinion...he has no a court of law in the USA this is hearsay. Nothing more. It's not enough of anything to do anything with. If the dems push forward with impeachment on this it will prove it's over nothing more than their hatred of trump and not of any evidence of wrongdoing.

Gordon Sondland, Bill Taylor, Fiona Hill, Kurt Volker, these are all Republican cabinet members and appointees. Some of whom were even appointed by your orange Jesus himself. So when you say that this is a witchhunt and a conspiracy you are calling your own party members liars. Which is fucking hilarious so I’m not complaining. Especially when the “party of patriotism” starts going after purple heart recipients like Lt. Col. Vindman. Truly comedic. “President over country, party over truth.”

As for my views on impeachment, if Trump definitely did something wrong -- anything -- the one thing he's mastered is making sure no one ever knows for absolute, undeniable certainty. He makes sure there are no paper trails and usually only involves people who would never rat him out. What makes the Ukraine controversy surprising is that he trusted Sondland, Taylor, Volker, etc, as much as he did. That seems to go against his instincts to only involve loyalists who have already proven themselves. The one thing he still has, though, is that so far there have been no official policy documents, texts, or emails showing -- or recordings of -- Trump saying, "You must investigate Biden in order to receive the foreign aid." Even if those things exist they're likely never to be handed over and possibly have already been destroyed. Had this matter been handled by Manafort, Kushner, etc, they would have all used encrypted communication with self-destructing messages. The one thing he has going against him, however, is that some/most of the people testifying against him are trusted to tell the truth far more than anyone reasonably trusts that Trump would be truthful. For this to be a complete hoax/setup it would require a massive conspiracy that won't hold up over time. I highly doubt that this is a conspiracy.

here is what I don't get.. 1. we don't need anyone to tell us what President Trump said on this phone call because we have the transcript. we know exactly what he said. 2. just because someone Interipts what they think was meant by the words used doesn't make their interpretation a fact. 3. quid pro quo is the basic function of providing aid to another country. no President has ever written a check to another country and said "Here is a bunch of money, we want to help. spend it on whatever you want" it's a transaction. we will give you this money, you will do this for us.

If Polosi or Schift ever hold public office after this then the United States is finished as a nation. This corruption precedent by the Democrats will destroy the nation. And that is exactly what they want. Democrats = Communists

"Amounted to quid pro quo"? IOW, the guy has made a decision on what Trump made. This is pure conjecture on his part, if not one more of the many lies the Dems tell.
