Greta Thunberg turns down a $50,000 environmental award

Greta Thunberg has turned down an environmental award and prize money, while saying ’the climate movement does not need any more awards’. While thanking the Nordic Council for offering her the award, Thunberg said ’politicians and the people in power’ need to listen to the ’current, best-available science’.

WTF!!!? Take the money and donate it to the tree thing. 50 000 trees right there. She would have actually done something constructive for the environment for once. Does this mean Greta doesn't really want to help the environment and only wants to play the victim terrorist?

I gonna take the other side here, good on her for standing by her convictions. Now, I do think that she is completely wrong, and has been manipulated into her current position. I don't think she is acting in bad faith though.
