US Interior Department grounds its drone fleet over fears of Chinese spying

The US Department of the Interior has grounded its fleet of more than 800 aerial drones over concerns about Chinese spying and cyberattacks. Every drone in use by the Department is either manufactured in China or uses some Chinese-made parts, says a media report. The drones will remain grounded until the department completes a review of the security risks they may pose.

786 out of 810 drones are Chinese made. The other 24 made in the US but with Chinese parts. So they are grounded too. Maybe they should have checked on this before buying them?

This is one of the reasons the trade war is a good thing.

This is idiotic. The drones are not flying autonomous weapons strikes.
