Berlin bans performers posing as US soldiers at iconic Cold War crossing

Authorities in Germany’s capital Berlin have banned local performers from wearing US army uniforms at Checkpoint Charlie, the iconic Cold War crossing between the east and west of the city. Officials said the actors from the group known as the Dance Factory demanded $4 for posing for photos with tourists. A police undercover operation found the actors verbally abusing those who refused to pay.

I can believe that Dance Factory actors do not want to give up the $5500/day in tourist money... I would have thought for that much money they would treat the tourists like the cash cows they are.

Glad to see some cracking down on scammers like this. This is a very serious issue in areas where tourists are known to visit.
