AOC apologizes, settles lawsuit after blocking critic on Twitter

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez issued an apology to a former NY state assemblyman and settled a lawsuit after having blocked him on Twitter. ’Mr. Hikind has a First Amendment right to express his views and should not be blocked for them’, Ocasio-Cortez said about former Assemblyman Dov Hikind, a talk radio host. Hikind called the ruling ’a great victory for First Amendment rights’.

Bwahahahahahahahaha! AOC "reserves the right" to continue violating the law? She doesn't appear to understand that she can't - just like Trump.

I is so sad to see we have to take all these democrats elected to congress to court, to have the judiciary explain the CONSTITUTION. The ones that are supposed to make our laws according to it and uphold it are woefully under equipped to carry out this task. Or they are simply corrupt and hell bent on violating our rights which I see as more likely since the Constitution was written for the layman to be able to understand.

Just had a fun thought: once Trump wins his second term, imagine that he 100% stops using Twitter. Who would scream about that the most?

wow... a meaningless piece about AOC apologizing to some thin skinned "former Democratic New York state assemblyman" on Twitch after the guy sued for getting blocked on Twitter. And it's right at the top by a ton of up votes. it's almost like Newsvoice community leans heavily to the right

A politician who apologized, thank you. I wish many of them would follow her lead.

Is it not ALSO your right to block someone you don't care to hear? What's the big deal? If there's someone's opinion I don't care to hear, then I "block" them by not listening. I guess that's somehow offensive!

I still think they should be able to block commenters on their own posts. They should NOT be able to block people from seeing what they write or sharing with their own comment/post.

This makes no sense. The right to free speech is not the right to have everyone listen. Regardless of what you think of AOC, suing somebody for blocking you on Twitter, if successful, sets a horrible precedent. Don't support this idiocy.
