Disney+ to include ads at launch

Disney+ will show an ad of premium TV channel Starz on its login page when the streaming service becomes available next week. The ad will be seen by users on Android and web users as well. The ad is a part of a deal signed with Starz to retain licenses of different content.

wasnt the whole point of streaming services to provide the advertising revenue upfront and dodge the ads themselves? leave it to media giants to push the envelope.

Better be free if they're forcing ads.

I hope they are ads for newly remastered VHS movies.

Fine, as long as they allow adblock. Also I won't be using the service other than the occasional free month promo.

it's just like cable back in the day. You paid for cable to be free of the basic stations commercials. Eventually commercials showed up. First steam was a great aggregate for games. Then every decent sized gaming company put out their own. Netflix started it....now every big name in media is going to put out their own streaming service. If I've got to manage 15 different subscriptions to all these different services why not just go back to cable where my internet bill already is and be done with the lot of them....garbage humans anyway....

How did the media giants take the flexibility of streaming and turn it back into cable-via-the-internet? 🙄

Yes, they will loop over and over the "The best man can be" Gillette ad.
