Boots’ American owner Walgreens explores going private

The American owner of chemist chain Boots is considering a deal to go private. Walgreens Boots Alliance, which is run by Italian businessman Stefano Pessina, has reportedly held early-stage talks with private equity firms about the potential buyout. For Walgreens, a deal to go private would be a chance to get out of public spotlight. Shares of Walgreens have slid about 22% over the last one year.
