Kansas City votes to remove King’s name from historic street

Kansas City voters on Tuesday overwhelmingly approved removing Dr. Martin Luther King’s name from one of the city’s most historic boulevards. This comes less than a year after the city council decided to rename The Paseo for the civil rights icon. Unofficial results showed more than 65% of voters in Tuesday’s balloting approved restoring the name of the 10-mile (16 km) street to ’The Paseo’.

So does the mayor own the local printing business? Make everyone redo their business cards, letterhead, etc and a year later make them redo it again. Stupid politicians can't even make up their minds.

Apparently the streets original name was considered historic in the local area (one of the town's original streets or something). The city council voted to change the name to honor Martin Luther King Jr. without getting the legally required approval from people who owned property on the street. In short this is a story of people reclaiming history from some SJWs.

Strangely enough I thought most streets named MLK Jr. tend to be in rough neighborhoods. Maybe they are doing this to reduce crime?

Huh? wait a minute....

Just an observation... Virtually every city with an MLK Blvd finds it to be the highest crime area of the city. I'm not sure why this is. Maybe they purposely rename the filthiest street in town to MLK Blvd.. Or maybe they base it on constituency?

Honestly I'd vote to remove any street name that wasn't a number, cause that shits annoying.

Originally I was going to make a joke about how leftists have gone from tearing down flags and statues of the Confederate to changing the street names of civil rights leaders, but the truth seems less dramatic. Anywho. So originally it was El Paseo then they changed it to MLK Drive, and now back to El Paseo. That is an awful lot of signs being taken down and put back up.
