SoftBank Group plunges to $6.5 billion quarterly loss

SoftBank reported its first quarterly loss in 14 years on Wednesday, whiplashed by a hit at its giant Vision Fund. SoftBank said its $100 billion Vision Fund contributed an operating loss of $8.9 billion during the July-September quarter, as the value of its tech bets such as WeWork and Uber tumbled. Overall, the group posted an operating loss of $6.5 billion.
