Bank of England keeps rates on hold ahead of UK election

The Bank of England (BoE) warned Thursday that the British economy will grow by less than it had predicted, as it kept its main interest rate on hold at 0.75%. The rate-setting committee has been reluctant to move interest rates for over a year given the huge uncertainty surrounding Brexit. The bank cut its growth forecast for next year to 1.2% for 2020 from 1.3%.
