Southwest extends Boeing 737 MAX cancellations until early March

Southwest Airlines and American Airlines Group said on Friday they are extending Boeing 737 MAX cancellations until early March. Southwest, though, warned that the timeline could get pushed back again. American said it planned to resume commercial flights on the 737 MAX on March 5.

Boeing is in real trouble at this point. It's fairly evident this plane is fundamentally flawed (they would've comfortably found a fix for it by now if it wasn't) , and they just cannot afford to scrap it cos Airbus with both the a320neo and the a220 will snatch Boeing's lunch. The only thing saving them at this point is the fact that Airbus just won't be able to produce these planes anywhere near fast enough to fill the massive void that would be left by a 737MAX-sixed hole. Plus, Airbus and Boeing both need their duality to continue. Producing an all-new plane is incredibly expensive.
