Houston prosecutor fired for asking assault victim’s immigration status

A Houston prosecutor was fired Friday after he refused to bring charges against a man accused of attempted sexual assault because he believed the victim was living in the US illegally. Harris County District Attorney fired John Denholm after he had been reassigned to a different part of the office pending an investigation of the Oct. 31 incident.

I get asked my legal status at road blocks. The cops can question every driver on the road but a prosecuter can't ask an assault suspect?

it speaks to motive. illegals that witness or are victims of crimes often are given legal status so they can testify. houston is a very corrupt city.

As stated, the victim's citizenship status has no bearing on whether a crime was committed or not. I don't know if the prosecutor deserved to be fired but he certainly should have not done that.
