Well as long as the dems are jizzing all over each other's wrists moaning quid pro quo, Trump gets free reign to mess with policy.

I disagree with the notion of charging for asylum but there does need to be some preventative measure to ensure that economic migrants aren’t getting it. Discontent with your current life is not a reason for immigration. Being a victim of persecution or organized crime is most definitively one.

In no case of people genuinely fleeing for their lives would they ever argue with paying an asylum fee.

We’ve been given no other choice since everyone is seemingly being shipped here.

Doesn’t it cost like $10K to have coyotes smuggle them across the border? I’d say that’s a discount.

Good policy. If people are traveling halfway across the world. They should pay for it since apparently a neighbouring country is not safe yet a city like San-Francisco is apparently.

I think this will definitely help reduce the number of asylum claims, many people claiming asylum simply don’t qualify and it really slows down the process for those who do qualify. I think we need to look at the goal, which is to reduce asylum claims and I think this will do it.

If you actually take the time to read the proposal it gives asylum seekers a deferred payment plan after they are here and checked out and granted asylum. It drastically increased the fee for REPLACEMENT green cards which reached 895,000 last year to prevent people from sharing green cards with illegal invaders I AM ALL FOR IT

Well they should have something like bail to make sure they return for their hearings. Otherwise they can stay in custody.

Disagree with this, the US needs to encourage legal immigration. If its easier to cross the border they will.

it's time for all those stingy, tight wad, liberals to pitch in thier own money to help these immigrants. we know you like to use other people's money for your virtue signaling, but how about your own money. how strongly do you really care? vote with your wallet.

The idea that a fee is attached to asylum is horrible. I'm all for strong immigration policies that reward merit based immigration, but asylum is a separate issue altogether. If fees would prevent even a single REAL asylum seeker to be prevented live saving asylum status then I strongly appose this measure.
