Bolivian president Evo Morales resigns after election result dispute

Bolivian President Evo Morales has resigned amid turmoil following his disputed re-election last month. He took the decision after the country’s military suggested him to do so. Earlier on Sunday, Morales, in power for 14 years, said he would call a new election after the Organisation of American States identified serious irregularities in the last vote and recommended a new ballot.
