Instagram to test hiding Like counts in the US next week

Instagram has said it will start testing out a change that hides the ’likes’ counter in the US next week. With the test enabled, people still see the number of likes on their own posts, but not other people. The company has tested this feature in other markets and says the purpose behind this is to ’depressurize’ the platform.

It would have been better if the consequences of these feature in apps had been thought about sooner...or itleast been acknowledged years ago...now people are already hooked on the crack.

Depressurize? What is the pressure in the first place? Isn’t the point to take interesting pictures and tell a story?
