Uber CEO likens murder of Khashoggi to ’mistake’ of driverless cars

Uber CEO Khosrowshahi called the murder of journalist Khashoggi ’a mistake’, comparing it to his firm’s failings with self-driving cars. Pressed on Saudi links with Uber, Khosrowshahi said, ’People make mistakes, it doesn’t mean they can never be forgiven’. Saudi Arabia is Uber’s fifth-largest shareholder. Khosrowshahi later said his comments were ’in the moment’ and the murder was reprehensible.
