Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong sentenced for Tiananmen vigil

Pro-democracy activist Joshua Wong has been sentenced to 10 months in jail in Hong Kong for participating in an unauthorized vigil marking the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown. The annual vigil was banned for the first time last year by police citing Covid measures. Nevertheless, tens of thousands showed up including Wong. Wong is already in prison for a separate unauthorized assembly conviction.

You can't flout public health measures during a pandemic. Especially in a well controlled country like China. They take enforcement seriously.

Holding a vigil in Hong Kong for the victims who got massacred by China’s government is now anti-government terrorism.
