Drought in Zimbabwe kills more than 200 elephants, other wild animals

More than 200 elephants have died over the last two months due to a lack of water at Zimbabwe’s main conservation zones in Mana Pools and Hwange National Park, and a mass relocation of animals is planned to ease congestion. Many animals are straying from Zimbabwe’s parks into nearby communities in search of food and water, resulting in the death of 33 people from conflict with animals this year.
