Disney+ adds ’outdated cultural depictions’ warning to classics

Users on Disney’s new streaming service noticed a warning attached to several Disney classics of ’outdated cultural depictions’ in titles including ’Dumbo’, ’The Jungle Book’, among others. ’This program is presented as originally created. It may contain outdated cultural depictions’, the warning reads. Some users applauded Disney for the move, while others called the disclaimers ’dismissive’.

Gotta protect the snowflakes and their safe spaces from anything resembling a stereotype.

"We're sorry the movies from the past were made by people in the past." Disney literally just apologized for the forward movement of time.

They should apologize for their current racism. Disney thinks every black or Asian person in their movies should have a bland role with no character development.

I absolutely agree with Disney's decision here. It's better this than censoring stuff out of existence like the Simpson's did. A nice compromise.

I'd rather an upfront and honest statement about the films tracked onto the beginning than never being able to see them if I wanted. Song of the South is from a different era. It should be seen for what it is.

Just like Warner Bros does. They just put a disclaimer in : These movies are products of their time but removing them completly is the same like denying that these things happend

I bet they would be upset at old ww2 footage where almost all of the soldiers were white.

Hilarious how this needs to be a “warning.” We’re truly in the midst of 🤡🌏 now, folks.

I suppose it's better than then censoring out the content or cutting entire scenes.

Next step, these "cultural appropraitions" will be scrubbed from the records. Then anyone who remembers them!

Abigail Disney (Walt Disney's grand niece) wrote on Facebook. "As if the King of the Jungle number wasn't proof enough" (that Disney was racist) I'm curious as to what this King of the Jungle number is. Does she mean King of the Swingers?

It would be great if everyone would stop being butt hurt about the past. So Disney has appologized for the past so now every western ever made that shows Native Americans in a poor light must have a disclaimer. What about every other culture Chinese Japanese Irish Polish. and the list goes on. If you are offended by this type of stuff choose not to watch it.

What the article doesn't say is that these films are being sanitized, meaning altered and censored.

No profit in "woking" the back catalog. I truly hope the radical left hounds Disney about this.
