Disney+ streaming service has reached 10 million sign-ups

Walt Disney said its new streaming service Disney+ had been met with ’extraordinary consumer demand’, reaching 10 million sign-ups in its first day. Combined with Disney’s other streaming businesses, Hulu and ESPN+, the company now serves 40.3 million viewers in the US. The service costs $7 per month and features roughly 500 movies and 7,500 TV episodes.

Cable is mortally wounded now that Disney has entered the streaming service. ESPN and other sports programs need to follow suit and do direct subscription or they will die with the boomers.

Internet killed the cable whale. Disney will get their cut along with all the other individual companies. Cable was a racket. I'm not sad to see that die, finally I determine what I want to pay for. Also, I won't be buying Disney service.
