CDC raises alarm over surge of drug-resistant ’superbugs’

Nearly twice as many people are dying in the US from antibiotic-resistant infections than previously believed, a CDC report said on Wednesday. Issuing its first comprehensive report into the growing health threat posed from the so-called ’superbugs’, the CDC noted that 2.8 million antibiotic resistant infections occur each year, killing 35,000 people.

This is one of the most serious things we face. It kills many more people than guns do and it is completely preventable. Doctors are seriously over prescribing antibiotics.
