US-born Marine vet wrongly held by ICE to be paid $190,000

A US born Marine war veteran wrongly detained by immigration authorities for three days will receive a $190,000 settlement from the city of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The City Commission unanimously approved the payment to Jilmar Ramos-Gomez on Tuesday. Ramos-Gomez was held for three days in December 2018 after being apprehended on suspicion of trespassing and damaging a fire alarm.

I actually have no problem with this. ICE made a mistake. The man should be compensated generously as seems to be the case. Edit: To clarify I have no problem with the guy being compensated because a government agency wrongfully detained him.
