Australia to curb foreign interference on campuses

Australia laid out new guidelines on Thursday to counter foreign powers exerting influence in its universities. Universities committed to the new code will have to share cyber intelligence with national security agencies, name overseas research partners and list financial dealings with other countries.

Good on them. I actually went to an American university with a Confucius Center. The place was nothing more than a propaganda mill. I attended a lecture where a straight-faced employee explained the Communist system is basically like America's except in China they will politely ask people to remove material that disrupts public harmony. Can't make that up...

Good! we need to stop pandering to overseas interests and put Australian values first. Yes, Australia is incredibly multicultural, but it doesn't mean that we don't have a shared value system.
