Terminally ill scientist transforms himself into world’s first full cyborg

A terminally-ill British scientist suffering a muscle wasting disease has said he has fully completed his transition into the world’s first full cyborg. So-called ’Peter 2.0’ is a result of Dr. Peter Scott-Morgan, 61, challenging what it meant to be human when he refused to accept his fate following a diagnosis of motor neurone disease. He says MND should be seen as an opportunity to ’upgrade’.

A lot of hype, like all articles about cybernetics are. Dude is having medical procedures performed to reduce the risk of dying from lung infections caused by his saliva going into his lungs. He had a creepy fake facial avatar created because he is going to lose his facial muscle control, but it's not on his body, it's separate. Minimal machine implants and he us NOT fully cyborged. We are very far from being able to do that.
