Wikipedia’s Jimmy Wales has launched an alternative to Facebook and Twitter

Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales is launching a social-media website called WT: Social, taking on giants like Facebook and Twitter. However, instead of funding it using advertising, Wales is financing it through user donations. Currently, WT: Social has about 50,000 users, and it only went live a month ago.

Wikipedia isn't that much better than Facebook or Twitter. For example, see the 2016 Election interference page, it mentions that Russians hacked the DNC and released damaging information about Clinton. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_interference_in_the_2016_United_States_elections However, the only one to actually "confirm" Russia did this is an "anonymous source" for AP. The CIA and NSA think this was most likely China, not Russia. A person brought this up in the "talk" page, but this discussion was locked by an Admin with a canned response. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Russian_interference_in_the_2016_United_States_elections That same admin has gotten a gold star type reward for her work on articles regarding Trump... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:MelanieN She also has anti-Trump jokes public on her profile. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:MelanieN/Archive_30
