China’s mega-dump full 25 years ahead of schedule

China’s biggest garbage dump is full, 25 years before planned. The Jiangcungou landfill in the northwestern city of Xi-an was constructed in 1994 to serve more than eight million people and was built to last until 2044. Encompassing 7,534,730 square feet, the size of 100 football fields, the dump received 10,000 tons of waste per day, four times planned.
