Italy declares state of emergency in Venice after flood

Italy declared a state of emergency in Venice after the city witnessed the worst flooding in more than 50 years. After the high tides of Tuesday, Thursday also saw incessant rains flooding Venice’s historic basilica and inundating squares and centuries-old buildings causing millions of euros worth of damage. The Italian government has ordered the immediate release of €20m for urgent intervention.

Did they honestly think the day would never come? Even a little child can tell you that there is something wrong with the idea of building a city like that. It was a crazy, human ego that decided to build Venice. It's a miracle those wonderful buildings haven't fallen into the sea already. They should prioritize and start relocating their historical treasures before it is too late.
