9-year-old set to become youngest university grad in the world

A 9-year-old child from Belgium is more than a decade ahead of his peers as he’s set to graduate from college next month. Laurent Simons, who is studying electrical engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology, is set to finish his degree by December. Simons will then go for his PhD in electrical engineering, while also working for a degree in medicine.

I always feel sorry for these kids. They don't get to fully enjoy their childhood. and when they get older it's usually burn out or feeling like they arnt good enough because the other kids grow up and close the gap.

To be fair with university the way it is any random 9 year old could probably pass.

Very impressive abilities and family that are trying to protect him. I am always surprised that there are people who do not believe in talent or ability when there is clear evidence of it, like this.

whys everyone upset, this is a good thing. I went through the normal way and have zero social skills. Not everyone going to high school is the ace of the football team, so who knows what would've happened to this kid. besides, kids gonna be fucking rich with what he's capable of. he'll naturally make friends, help those in need, and live the high life from here on out. I would love to have skipped high school entirely and go straight to college. high school is a complete waste of time that taught me nothing. not to mention that 1 semester chemistry in college covers more than 2 years in high school. it's a fucking joke.

Why do we keep doing this to kids? This boy is going to grow up with ZERO social skills and is going to end up nowhere. His childhood is ruined. He’s been rushed into adulthood. THE KID CANT EVEN WORK YET. He’s going to graduate college and then have to wait 6 years (or however long it would be in Germany) before he can work. These kids never reach their full potential because we RUSH them and PUSH them to their limits. Just let the kid grow up normally! He would be so much more successful if he grew up normally.

I suppose the Universities standards have dropped very low then. copy/paste what is told to you does not mean you understand such topics.
