Dutch anti-racism activists protest over blackface character

Anti-racism campaigners held protests across the Netherlands on Saturday as Dutch children hailed the annual arrival of St. Nicholas and a blackface character, Black Pete, who traditionally accompanies him. The campaigners say exposure to such imagery is hurtful to black people and damaging to children. However, a majority of Dutch people say there is no reason to change a harmless tradition.

America needs more of this guy and Krampus in it's Christmas folklore. Just to keep it interesting.

I don't really care one way or the other about Pete, however, I do wonder what the long term outcome of this "Cancel Culture" will look like. When are we "done" fixing these things. is it when all history related to any form of racism is erased? How many generations deep would we have to purge? I can imagine hearing in a few years, "his/her father/mother was a racist so cancel him/her". Quite frightening.

They're trying to introduce rainbow petes. Few years later we'll have drag queens wearing dildos next to an SM daddy as Saint Nicholas, isn't that what these progressive leftist retards want more of? Black Pete is not racist!

What ever happened to "live and let live"? Why do lefties have to tear everything down all the time? Try building something for a change.

I like how the Reuters picture has a white guy with a sign "Blackface = Racisme" with a black lady right there looking like "whatever"

Oh it's that time of the year when people learn about a Dutch tradition that happens literally every year. That must mean it's almost time for the yearly war on Christmas stories too.
