Vietnam offers loans to grieving families to return bodies

Loans to repatriate the bodies to Vietnam are being offered to the families of the 39 Vietnamese citizens found dead in a truck last month in the UK. Relatives have been approached by authorities offering the option of taking out a government loan of $2,840 or paying the cost of repatriation themselves. The families had already previously paid upwards of $50,000 to smuggle the victims into the UK.
