"We should supply every school with this great children's book!" "Of course, Mrs. Mayor, nice of you to take such a proactive approach to childhood literacy. How many do you think we should buy?" "As many as we can get away with, I mean, uh, as many as you think is necessary plus a few hundred, kids might take copies home cause this book is so good!" "Great! How much per book?" "$89.99. It's a bargain for how good this book is!" "That seems a bit high and... Hey this author has the same name as you!" "Ha! What a crazy coincidence!" *begins to sweat profusely* "Yeah, I guess it is. How are we going to pay the author though?" "They only take checks. Here, I can take it to them myself." "Seems below your station, Mrs. Mayor." "I'm just a civil servant like you." A dramatic reenactment of corruption and idiocy.

Wish the national executive branch was held to the same standard. I guess we stopped caring about holding them to account after Nixon.
