Southern Africa’s deadly drought leaving millions hungry

A month-long drought in southern Africa has left millions of people with a crisis of food insecurity. While the UN estimates that 45 million people will be ’severely food insecure’ over the next six months, 11 million currently face ’crisis’ or ’emergency’ levels of food insecurity in nine countries: Angola, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Zambia, Madagascar, Malawi, Namibia, Eswatini and Lesotho.
