China says will strive to reach ’phase one’ trade deal with US

China has said it will strive to reach an initial trade agreement with the United States as both sides keep communication channels open. A spokesperson for the Chinese government said they are willing to work with the US to resolve each other’s core concerns on the basis of equality and mutual respect, and will try hard to reach a ’phase one’ deal.

It's all just talk. China sits on the position of power. All it has to do is wait for a year. No problem for them, but it means 3 years of crops sitting in silos as farmers are paid $20 billion or so a year as compensation.
