Hong Kong holds its breath ahead of polls amid lull in violence

More than 4.13 million voters in Hong Kong head to the polls on Sunday as the city holds its district council election. This is the first governmental poll since the city’s social unrest began in June. District councils are lower level government bodies looking after local matters. Experts suggests the election will be the ’barometer’ to reflect the social sentiment.

I have no doubt that China will facilitate free and fair elections, that they will respect the outcome of those elections and that should the will of the people be independence from China then they will respect the democratic process. I also remain optimistic that my Nigerian benefactor will contact me soon regarding the large bank transfer that I paid to facilitate.
