University says can’t fire professor for ’bigoted’ remarks

A professor at Indiana University who defended the ’racist, sexist, and homophobic’ comments he posted on his social media accounts will keep his job because his views are protected under the Constitution. While the university noted that Prof. Rasmusen’s views are ’stunningly ignorant’ and ’bigoted’, it said he would be in violation of their policy only if he acted upon his views in the workplace.
