The daughter of a 56-year old saved her mother from domestic abuse by calling 911 and pretending to order pizza. Tim Teneyck, the dispatcher at the receiving end recognized the distress call and sent officers who arrested the abuser, Simon Lopez. The incident took place in Oregon, Ohio.

I've seen transcripts from these before. It's brilliant how the operators catch on very quickly and can communicate in code with the victim.

I've seen this tactic been used by victims. It's a good one to make. And good on that operator for catching on to the gig.

Smart on all parties involved. I know of women in these situations who will dial 911 on a phone and toss it behind a couch or other furniture, trusting the dispatcher to send help. Plenty of smart people out there.
