South Korean boy band BTS won’t get a pass on mandatory military service

The South Korean government has insisted that the popular boy band BTS must perform military service, defying calls from the band’s fans for their idols to be granted an exemption. As per law, all able-bodied South Korean men must start almost two years of military service by the time they are 28. Exceptions can be made for classical musicians and athletes.

I don't like the idea of compulsory military service, but I do like the idea of nobody being above the law.
