Australia probes ’Chinese plot’ to plant spy in parliament

An Australian TV Network on Sunday broadcast that Chinese operatives had offered Australian businessman Bo Zhao $679,000 to run as a candidate in a federal seat in Melbourne. The network claims that Zhao had informed intelligence agencies about the approach. He was found dead in a Melbourne hotel in March. The Australian intelligence agency Asio has confirmed that they are aware of the ’plot’.
