Jupiter’s Great Red Spot isn’t dying, scientist says

Researchers from the University of California, Berkeley, speaking at a conference held by the American Physical Society’s Division of Fluid Dynamics, said there is no evidence that Jupiter’s Great Red Spot has changed in size or strength. Earlier this year there was speculation that the system, observed since 1830, was getting smaller.

Hard to imagine that a storm that has persisted through 15.75 orbits around the sun (Jupiter takes ~12 years each orbit) would suddenly start to weaken. Any difference in the Storm's size, strength, etc is likely an artifact of better technology.
