World’s first HIV-positive sperm bank launches

The world’s first HIV positive sperm bank has been launched in New Zealand in an attempt to reduce the stigma surrounding those living with the virus. Sperm Positive has begun with three male donors who are living with HIV. The sperm bank has said it will be made clear to people looking for a donor that they have HIV but are on effective treatment and so cannot pass the virus on.

I would say that this is the stupidest thing I have ever heard but it’s 2019 and I’ve been reading the news for the last 4 years.

at first this seems strange but yeah, this makes sense. the point is to erode the stigma of hiv. there literally is not a single recorded case of someone who had undetectable hiv who transmitted it to another person. however, you still feel like "wtf?" when you read the headline, because of what we've been taught about hiv. thats the entire point of this
