Snowstorm in central US snarls Thanksgiving travel plans

A powerful winter storm rolled across the Midwest on Wednesday, threatening to scramble Thanksgiving plans for millions of people during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year. The storm dumped a foot of snow in parts of Colorado and buffeted the Denver area with wind gusts of 45 miles per hour. Nearly 500 flights were canceled and more than 350 delayed at Denver Airport by Tuesday afternoon.
